About The Trust

The Setting
Where Purpose Meets Place

Born from the legacy of John H Lunn (Jewellers) Ltd, established in the heart of Belfast's Queen's Arcade, Lunn's Charitable Trust carries forward a tradition of precision, care, and commitment to excellence.

Registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (NIC 101559), we operate exclusively within Northern Ireland, focusing our resources on three distinct yet interconnected areas: the advancement of education, the protection and improvement of the environment, and the relief of poverty, ill health, and disadvantage.

Like the careful selection of precious stones, we examine each application with meticulous attention, ensuring that every grant awarded has the potential to create lasting, demonstrable benefit for the communities we serve.

Our Approach

The Craft
Evidence of Careful Work

Like master jewellers examining a stone, we apply rigorous criteria to every application. Our trustees—Peter John Lunn, William Mckeown, and Valerie Ingram—meet regularly to assess projects based on clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and demonstrable community benefit.

1

Assessment

Each application is reviewed against our charitable objectives and the specific needs of the community it serves.

2

Monitoring

We maintain contact with funded organisations throughout the project lifecycle to ensure proper implementation.

3

Evaluation

Feedback is gathered on whether project objectives have been achieved, ensuring accountability and learning.

Every grant benefits local communities

We envisage no private benefits will arise. The charity beneficiaries are those living in Northern Ireland.
